Etymology The specific epithet nigrolineata is a Latin adjective meaning 'marked with black lines', and refers to the coloration of the species: "Les dessins pigmentaires, comme ils sont montrés sur la figure ci-jointe, consistent en trois parties, c'est à dire une bande de brun foncé, près du bord postérieur, une surface assez large de couleur moins foncée partie antérieure du segment à la face dorsale et un espace pâle non pigmenté au milieu. [...] Chez les individus sexuels [...] Les 8 segments suivants [to setiger 7] remplis d'éléments sexuels sont bien dilatés, et en même temps la coloration spécifique de la face dorsale est réduite à une simple bande brune au bord postérieur, tandis que le pigment disparaît presque complètement dans l'espace trapézoïdal antérieur. Le nom de la variété nigrolineata est dû à cet état de coloration" (Okada, 1934). [details]
