Status Glasby and Hutchings (2014) suggest that this species is a species inquirenda. They state "As no type material could be located and the original description is very brief with no illustrations, we suggest that this species is a species inquirenda." However, they apparently did not see the original description as they cite the name as "Bobretzky in Annenkova, 1924". This is not correct. The original description in Bobretzky (1868) is long (1.5 pages) and there are several figures. The apparent authorship as "Bobretzky in Annenkova, 1924" originates as one of Hartman catalogue entries where it is her convention for indicating she had seen the name in Annenkova, and had not seen the Bobretzky original (and did not know the true date as it is not given in Annenkova), rather than that the name was first published briefly by Annenkovaa-Chlopina in 1924 as these authors appear to have interpreted her record.

Authority Author is Bobretzky, 1868. Any presentation of the authorship as 'Bobretzky in Annenkova, 1924' arises from a misinterpretation of a Hartman catalogue entry (1959: 518).
