From editor or global species database
Habitat Bousfield (1984) refered to additional un-named species from Ecuador, tropical south America and Nigeria, tropical west Africa in the Atlantic Ocean; Madagascar and south-eastern India in the Indian Ocean. Named taxa occur in India, Mocaimbique and Australia/New Guinea. This indicates a classic post-Gondwanan distribution, except how did they get into the heart of the Atlantic Ocean. The only significant difference I can find between Microrchestia and Protorchestia is slightly sexually dimorphic pereopods 6 and 7 in Microrchestia. [details]
