Diagnosis Whitish pigmentation present dorsally on segments 2 and 3 (first two dorsally visible segments) and cirrophores of dorsal tentacular cirri of segments 2 and 3. Dorsal cirri on anterior segments rounded, on median and posterior segments asymmetrically cordiform, longer than wide.

Eumida macrophthalma differs from E. dracodermica and E. delicata in the shape of the prostomium, which is more rounded, and in the size of the eyes, which are proportionally larger. The three species also differ in the extension of the dorsal whitish pigmentation on the anterior segments. Dorsal cirri on median and posterior segments are asymmetrical and cordiform, longer than the dorsal cirri in Eumida dracodermica. [details]
