From editor or global species database
Authority Darboux (1899) created Peisidicinae within Aphroditidae, which then included several subfamilies now ranked as distinct families (eg Sigalioninae). The code treats this as equivalent to creating Peisidicidae, and Darboux is the author, not Hartman & Fauchald (1971) or Hartman (1976) who used Peisidicidae at family rank (these two papers are contemporary in preparation, but Hartman (1976) was delayed in publication. [details]

Nomenclature Fauchald (1977:66) created the new name Pholoididae to replace Peisidicidae because of the synonymy of Peisidice. However, this was an unnecessary replacement name. The code does not require it. [details]
