Synonymy Jirkov & Leontovich (2013:242) proposed Amphitrite affinis as a synonym of Amphitrite edwardsi (Quatrefages, 1866 [sometimes 1865]). However, this was not based on type re-examinations. If correct, then which name has priority requires careful determination. Both are currently in Neoamphitrite which Jirkov (see Jirkov 2001) regards as a synonym of Amphitrite. [details]
