Status Müller (1858) included Gisela in his Ariciaea, and that is the basis for keeping the genus name in Orbiniidae. Otherwise the characters are too indeterminate to assign to family. Spionidae has been hinted at by Hartman but she kept Gisela in Orbiniidae. See also comments on Gisela heteracantha [details]
