Taxonomy Quatrefages (1866 p.533) placed Eupomatus pectinatus Philippi as the combination Vermilia pectinata, and clearly indicated Philippi was the original author. Hartman catalogue (p.607) incorrectly lists the combination Vermilia pectinata as if authored by Quatrefages. Quatrefages recorded the collection locality only as Mediterranean Sea [details]
