Taxonomic remark Both Fernandez & Villalba (1986) and Lin & Ho (2007) considered C. spinosus to be a junior synonym of C. aesopus. This confusion was resolved when Choe & Kim (2010) redescribed and compared the two species, concluding that both are valid. [details]
