A new species of semi-terrestrial monostiliferous hoplonemertean from California, Pantinonemertes californiensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The genus Pantinonemertes, transitional between marine and terrestrial habitats, provides evidence for 1 evolutionary line towards the colonization of land by nemerteans.
