Type species Rankin (1979: 93) designated Hedyle tyrtowii Kowalewsky, 1900 as type species, which would render Microhedyle> a senior objective synonym of Parhedyle Thiele, 1931. However, this is predated by the designation of M. glandulifera lactea by Thompson (1976), which leaves both taxa as potentially valid. [details]
