Taxonomic remark Although D’Udekem-d’Acoz & Verheye (2017) make a case for the reestablishment of the family Parampithoidae on the basis of molecular evidence presented by Verheye et al. (2016b). They do not formally diagnose the family and they include ‘at least’ three genera. The relationships of the parampithoid-calliopiid taxa needs further investigation. Until a reasoned diagnosis of the Parampithoidae can be formulated, it would be premature to accept the reestablished family into the new classification by Lowry & Myers, 2017. [details]
