Authority Quatrefages does not indicate this is the Lophiocephala genus of Costa, but it is obvious that it is from Quatrefages' inclusion of 'Lophiocephalus' edwardsii Costa. Costa (1861: 32) had earlier also used the 'Lophiocephalus' spelling, but only in a listing, not in connection with taxonomic work [details]
