From editor or global species database
Identification Sollas (1888) in the discussion of Pachastrella monilifer (sic), admitted that he first thought that Schmidt's species Pachastrella abbyssi was a member of a new genus, which he intended to name Picraster, but when he later received a fragment of Schmidt's P.monilifera he realized that P. abyssi and P.monilifera were very similar. Subsequently, he abandoned the new genus, but in retrospect he should not have named the new genus. We keep it listed in the WPD to prevent potential use as a new genus name (the name is not listed in the Nomenclator Zoologicus). [details]
