Plumularia balei Billard, 1911 is a junior primary homonym of Plumularia balei Bartlett, 1907, and is permanently invalid under Article 57.2 of the ICZN, even though the two are no longer assigned to the same genus (the former is now included in the genus Antennella Allman, 1877, and the latter in the genus Gattya Allman, 1885). Consequently, the combination Antennella balei (Billard, 1911) is unaccepted, and the replacement name Antennella billardi Galea, 2021 was introduced.
