Type material The type material is considered lost (cf. Van Soest et al. 1983). Parra-Velandia et al. (2014) remarked that a neotype was proposed in Assmann et al. (2001), but that is a mistake, no such proposal was made in that paper. [details]

Synonymy On the suggestion of Assmann et al. (2001), Parra-Velandia et al. (2014) assigned Ectyon flabelliformis Carter, 1882 to the synonymy of this species, but Van Soest et al. (2014) considered this a valid species. [details]

Type material The type material is considered lost (cf. Van Soest et al. 1983). Parra-Velandia et al. (2014) remarked that a neotype was proposed in Assmann et al. (2001), but that is a mistake, no such proposal was made in that paper. [details]
