Taxonomy Samaai et al. (2006) record this species as authored by Topsent (either 1922 or 1928), but its origin could not be traced...
Taxonomy Samaai et al. (2006) record this species as authored by Topsent (either 1922 or 1928), but its origin could not be traced to any Topsent paper. In Samaai & Krasokhin (2002) the author is given as Topsent, 1895, but no var. regularis is mentioned in the two known papers authored by Topsent, 1895 (just the name Latrunculia insignis is mentioned). Possibly this is a misprint for Sceptrella regalis Schmidt, 1870. [details]
