Diagnosis Shell solid, up to 40 mm high, with a rather high-conical spire. Protoconch with 2 whorls. Teleoconch with 6-8 rounded whorls. Sculpture of unequal spiral cords, narrower than interspaces and with low and narrow axial ribs forming with the cords a clathrate sculpture; there are 3-5 fine spiral threads between adjacent cords. Varixes moderately thick, repeated every 2/3 of whorl, overrun by the spirals. Aperture rounded; outer lip with 6 strong denticles which form between spiral cords; parietal and columellar edge forming a continuous, thin and broad callus, the parietal edge with a strong denticle, the remainder with indistinct tubercles or folds. Siphonal canal open, moderate in length. Shell colour golden-tan, with dark-brown blotches on and behind varices interrupted by a white spot at the shoulder of each varix, a paler band at the periphery.  [details]
