Nomenclature In many publications on this species the name is spelled as H. sieboldii, but Gray's original spelling is H. sieboldi. The spelling sieboldii is an incorrect subsequent spelling and this must be changed back to the original spelling (cf. ICZN art. 33.4). The incorrect spelling is probably due to Schulze's (1887) much used Challenger monograph, inspired perhaps by the earlier use of sieboldii by Carter (1885). Schulze corrected the name to sieboldi again in the 1893 treatment of the Ampidiscophora. [details]
