Description Description: disc colour of the dried specimens blue variegated with whitish, with conspicuous blue lines across the outer ends of the radial shields and at intervals across the arm. Disc scales covered by thick skin, with many small granules and scattered larger ones. Central part of the disc with several short, blunt spines. Six arms covered by many granules basally, distally the granules form regular transverse rows, a larger central granule on each segment. Habitat: coral reef, in about 30 ft. of water (Balinsky, 1957). [details]
