Taxonomy Green (1987) reported that the basis on which Chamberlain had created Sonatsa as distinct from Maldane and Asychis, namely presence of two or more rows of uncini on each segment in the holotype, was not correct. The rows are single. Thus, although Green maintained the genus as valid, the synonymy with Maldane (as in Light, 1980) looks to be a sound placement and Green does not explain why she regards the genus as valid. [details]

[details]
