Taxonomy McIntosh did not indicate this name was a new genus. Amoureux (1972) strangely elected to replace Eusthenelais with his own choice of 'Parasthenelais' (see separate entry), but this is not possible as Eusthenelais is an available name. Nevertheless certain authors accepted this change and published usages of the combination Parasthenelais hibernica. [details]

Amoureux (1972) strangely elected to replace Eusthenelais with his own choice of 'Parasthenelais' (see separate entry), but this is not possible as Eusthenelais is an available name.
