Homonymy Parafabricia Fitzhugh 1992 is a junior homonym to the obscure subgenus Archytas (Parafabricia) [in Diptera, Tachinidae] of Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1894. Parafabricia Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1894 is currently a synonym and was little used, but a usage as valid occurred in 1931. There are further complications around Parafabricia Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1894, but it is an available name, and thus senior to Fitzhugh's name for homonymy. López & Cepeda do not comment on whether the precedence of the 1894 name and the 1992 name could be reversed (Article 23.9), but precedence could not be reversed as the 1894 name was used after 1899.
