Synonymy Pettibone (1963) placed both Ethocles typicus and Skardaria fragmentata as Apistobranchus tullbergi. Thus the genera were synonyms of Apistobranchus. Hartman (1965) also treated the genera as synonyms but regarded the species as valid [details]
