The specific epithet laeviseta is a New Latin noun meaning 'smooth chaeta', and refers presumably to the chaetae of the species, described as being smooth: ''Die Bortsen [...] distal sind sie spitz, aber nicht haardünn ausgezogen. [...] Bei L. ubianensis sind die Borsten jedoch fein gezähnt, während sie bei der neuen Art glatt sind" (Hartmann-Schröder, 1960: 264-265). The specific epithet is composed by the Greek adjective levis, incorrectly written as laeve or laevis, and meaning 'smooth' or 'lacking hairs', and the Latin noun seta, meaning 'bristle'.  [details]
