Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet laeviseta is a New Latin noun meaning 'smooth chaeta', and refers presumably to the chaetae of the species, described as being smooth: ''Der Saum ist gewellt und fein gestreift, am Rande aber glatt. [...] Die Borsten sind jedoch im distalen Teil nicht gezähnt, sondern besitzen einen einheitlichen, gestreiften, aber am Rande glatten Saum" (Hartmann-Schröder, 1962: 157-158). The specific epithet is composed by the Greek adjective levis, incorrectly written as laeve or laevis, and meaning 'smooth' or 'lacking hairs', and the Latin noun seta, meaning 'bristle'. [details]
