Homonymy Ceratonereis gracilis (Webster, 1884) is unavailable, as based on an unreplaced primary junior homonym original name, Nereis gracilis Webster, 1884, junior to Nereis gracilis Hansen, 1882. Conde-Vela (2021:309) states he is reinstating Ceratonereis gracilis (Webster, 1884), but this is not possible. It is necessary instead to provide a replacement name for Nereis gracilis Webster, 1884, so that there is no longer the possibility of confusion with Nereis gracilis Hansen, 1882. Conde-Vela (2021) notes in his synonymy listing that Nereis gracilis Webster, 1884 is a homonym of Nereis gracilis Hansen, 1882, but makes no further comment on how such a name could be available for use. [details]
