Editor's comment Plate 2 fig.8 depicts an attached tube with medial keel flanked by two rows of pits, rather reminiscent of Spirobranchus polytrema! The taxon was attributed to Placostegus by Mörch (1863: 420) [details]Editor's comment The Serpula ornata by Sowerby bis 1820 is clearly something like Spirobranchus polytrema, or even Pseudovermilia fuscostriata, however both Recen species from completely different biogeographical areas. Lea’s fossil rather looks like an unwinding Spirorbis, or even a strange Glomerula. [details]
