Taxonomy The species was moved to genus Typosyllis Langerhans, 1879 by Hartman (1959: 230, 234), in spite of the fact that she also cites the species under the genus Syllis Lamarck, 1818 (Hartman, 1959: 224). It was later synonymized with Typosyllis armillaris by Day & Hutchings (1979: 103) and Licher (1999: 194). Aguado et al. (2008: 21) revised the type material and redescribed the species under the genus Syllis, supported by new material from Indonesia.  [details]
