Nomenclature Boyko (1996: 12) points out that Rieger (1974) does not designate a type species, which makes the name Kytorhynchoides for the subgenus indeed unavailable following the rules of ICZN (Art. 13). He proposes the new name Eukytorhynchus for the subgenus, containing the two species placed in Kytorhynchus (Kytorhynchoides) by Rieger (1974), and designates Kytorhynchus (Eukytorhynchus) microstylus as type sepcies of the subgenus.  [details]
