Distribution Widely distributed in the tropical Indo-West Pacific from the northeastern coast of Africa to southern China (Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and Hainan provinces), including Tanzania, the Red Sea, Oman, India, Andaman Sea, north Western Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Records of this species from southeastern and southern Africa are misidentifications of Sunetta bruggeni.
