Homonymy Rotalia inflata is possibly an Ammonia and even possibly a junior homonym or even a synonym of A. inflata (Seguenza, 1862). Fornasini mentionned the similarity with Seguenza's species. D'Orbigny's drawing of R. inflata shows less visible chambers on the umbilical side (8) instead of 10 for A. inflata, a difference possible between juvenile and adult whorls.
