Editor's comment Trophonia was a name assigned by Audouin and Milne Edwards, and mentioned by them in earlier works, but not validly published until plate 22 of the Disciples edition of Cuvier was published in 1843 by Milne Edwards. Meanwhile Johnston (1840: 371) had validly published Trophonia goodsirii, and thus became the author of Trophonia. [details]
