Taxonomy Babic (1922) made the mistake of associating Schmidt's (1862) Reniera fibulata with Ridley's (Carter's) Gelliodes fibulata....  
Taxonomy Babic (1922) made the mistake of associating Schmidt's (1862) Reniera fibulata with Ridley's (Carter's) Gelliodes fibulata. Several authors on Mediterrnean sponges followed Babic. However, according to De Weerdt (1986) these identifications concern Gellius = Haliclona (Gellius) and not Gelliodes[details]
