A new species of Brisingenes, Brisingenes margoae nov. sp. is described from the HUMMA Study Area (see overview ( Edwards et al., this issue-a), Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands. This represents a range extension for Brisingenes to the North Pacific and is the fifth-known brisingid species in the Hawaiian region. An overview of other Hawaiian brisingid species based on HURL in situ video observations is presented. Submersible-collected B. margoae and Brisinga panopla provides new insight into functional morphology of brisingid subambulacral spines. The high abundance of brisingids in the HUMMA Study Area is briefly reviewed. Identification keys for relevant taxa are provided.
