Neotype SMF 24359, geounit Ischia Island [details]
From editor or global species database
Neotype Neotype from Port of Ischia, Senckenberg Museum SMF 24359. Radashevsky, Choi, & Gambi (2017) created the neotype but provide no background other than that the "brief original description and the absence of type material have resulted in confusion with the identification of this species". Radashevsky & Migotto (2017) in an article intended to be published earlier but in print later, also state that "type material of P. hoplura has never been deposited in a museum collection". No supporting information on this is given. [details]Type locality Neotype from Port of Ischia, Ischia Is, near Naples, Italy, 40.7444° N, 13.9395°E, intertidal. Original type locality Gulf of Naples, Italy, Mediterranean Sea [details]
