Diagnosis Test somewhat elongate, flattened, broad, with carinate periphery, proloculus followed by tubular planispiral chamber, then by rapidly widening chambers of one-half coil in length, rarely three chambers per whorl, coiling evolute to slightly overlapping in the later whorls, final chamber uncoiled and rectilinear; wall calcareous, imperforate, porcelaneous, surface of the final whorl may have narrow longitudinal costae; aperture elongate, terminal on the final chamber, with a bordering everted lip.
