Two copepods, Cyclops divergens and Cyclops stagnalis, are found in the Netherlands for the first time. In samples from temporary waters and a fen Cyclops specimens were present that could not be identified immediately. The first antenna had 17 segments and the spine formula was 3-4-3-3, which is not consistent with any of the known Dutch species from temporary waters. Some specimens were dissected, measured and compared with three European species from temporary waters also having a first antenna with 17 segments and spine formula of 3-4-3-3. The populations from temporary waters in Vijlen, De Sysselt, Gorssel en Lelystad matched C. divergens. The populations from a temporary water near Ruurlo and an acid fen (Zondagveen) belong to Cyclops stagnalis.
