Taxonomic remark Sars' interpretation about Koch's species, Cyclops vulgaris:
In the monograph "An Account of the Crustacea of Norway", Sars used some of Koch's species which were considered by many taxonomists as incertae sedis.
The name Cyclops vulgaris Koch is not used by classic monographs (Kiefer, Dussart, Monchenko, Rylov, Gurney) and modern taxonomists.
With old descriptions/illustrations there are always problems, different scientists have different opinions on their diagnosability. [details]
