Brady (1892 pp. 42-43) has Temorella affinis var. hispida in the synonymies for E. affinis. He does not specifically say that hispida is a synonym but merely mentions Nordquist's records. Brady may not be the first to mention hispida after Nordquist's description.

"La var. hispida est egalement plus grele et plus petite que E. affinis type(long. f, 1mm38; m, 1mm20). Le dernier segment cephalothoracique est prolongue en point a sa partie posterieure et orne de poils epars. Le 3e segment de l'abdomen et la furca portent un grand nombre de fines epines a leur partie superieure. Nous ne croyons qu'il y ait lieu d'attacher, au point de vue systematique, une grande importancea ces varietes probablement toutes locales dans un genre ou les especes ont entre eles de tres grandes ressemblances." Translation: "The var. hispida is also more slender and smaller than the E. affinis type (length f, 1.38 mm; m, 1.20 mm). The last cephalothoracic segment is elongated to a point at its posterior part and decorated with scattered hairs. The 3rd segment of the abdomen and the furca have a large number of fine spines at their upper part. We do not believe that there is reason to attach, from a systematic point of view, great importance to these varieties, probably all local, in a genus where the species have very great resemblances between them."
