Three interesting echiuran specimens from the Caribbean deep sea, collected by Dr Torben Wolff during the Russian ship Akademic Kurchatov cruise 14 in 1974, have been named and described as Kurchatovus tridentatus new genus and new species. The genus is characterized by absence of proboscis, minute size of the mature females, single gonoduct with lateral gonostome. The new echiurans have two 3-clawed ventral hooks, and the animals appear to feed exclusively upon decaying plant material.
