Spelling Tabachnick & Menshina (2013) changed the spelling of their 2007 described subspecies Asconema fristedti icelandiensis. Since they did not explain their subsequent spelling change and did not refer to the original spelling, the name islandiensis became an unjustified emendation (ICZN art. 33.2.3). The name islandiensis is to be treated as an objective junior synonym, sharing the same holotype. The name islandiensis, like its predecessor name icelandiensis violates also art. 34.2 (agreement in gender), so it needed to be changed to islandiense. Its change to islandiense is mandatory (ICZN art. 34.2). [details]
