Nine species of spionid polychaetes are reported from the Gulf of California. Most species are borers in various gastropod shells. The description of Polydora nuchalis is clarified and P. heterochaeta is redescribed. Polydora barbilla is new to science. Polydora anophthalma is transferred to Boccardia and redescribed.
