Alvin dives in the East Pacific Rise in 2700 meters near 11°N collected two polynoid species of Harmothoinae: Harmothoe hollisi, n. sp. from dive 2000, associated with a "wood island," and Eunoe alvinella n. sp. from dive 2003, collected from an inactive sulfide chimney.
