Diagnosis  Mitrocomidae medusa with 4 long radial canals, each radial canal curved sharply near circular canal and running along circular canal, gonads along radial canals and giving a swastika pattern; 8 open statocysts; no ocelli, no cirri. Hydroid stolonal, hydrotheca pedicellate, deeply campanulate, widest at distal end operculum cone-shaped not distinctly demarcated from hydrotheca; diaphragm reduced; nematophores and nematothecae present, solitary nematothecae bulbous, on hydrorhizas; gonotheca borne on hydrorhiza, large, fan-shaped. [details]
