Synonymy Schiaparelli & Jirkov (2016), and earlier Jirkov (2011) consider that Paramphicteis Caullery, 1944, Phyllamphicteis Augener, 1918, and Pseudoamphicteis Hutchings, 1977 are synonyms of Amphicteis Grube, 1850. Reuscher et al (2015) disagree, keeping Paramphicteis as a senior synonym of Pseudoamphicteis Hutchings, 1977, with Phyllamphicteis also valid due to unique branchiae. [details]
