Taxonomy Licher & Westheide (1994) suggested placing Glyphohesione and other pilargids back in the Hesionidae, and this was endorsed by Dean (1998), at least for Glyphohesione. A subsequent analysis in Dahlgren et al (2000) indicated pilargids are a separate clade, although Glyphohesione was not analysed. [details]

Publication date Although Hartman (Catalogue, 1959) gives the date of publication as 1951, subsequent authors used the publication date of 1950, as is printed in the book. However, Nomenclator Zoologicus also prints the date as 1951 (http://www.ubio.org/NZ/PDF/Vol6/pg0110.pdf). If the exact date becomes significant for seniority further investigation may be necessary.
