Note Chauvetia is a replacement name for Nesaea...
Type species Chauvetia is a replacement name for Nesaea Risso, 1826, therefore the designation of Buccinum candidissimum Philippi, 1836 as type species is invalid because it is not one of the originally included species in Risso (1826). For this reason, Crosse (1885), in his review of Monterosato's paper, designated "Nesaea granulata Tiberi" which refers to Tiberi's (1868) erroneous concept of Nesaea granulata. Gofas & Oliver (2010: 28) concluded that the earlier designation by Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus (1883: 112) of a type species for Donovania (a replacement name for both Nesaea Risso, 1826 and Lachesis Risso, 1826 which they considered synonymous) can be accepted and extends to Chauvetia.  [details]
