Classification Clark, H.L. (1922) erected the genus Parastichopus with as main characteristic the presence of Thelenota-like dichotomous branching rods. This is a characteristic of the species regalis and tremulus. According to this fact, Rowe (unpublished data) put regalis and tremulus in the genus Parastichopus. In contrast to Cutress & Miller (1982) who included regalis in the genus Eostichopus[details]
