Taxonomy Lang originally proposed Polyarthra as a suborder of the Harpacticoida. On the basis of morphological evidence Dahms (1991) suggested that the Polyarthra should be removed from the Harpacticoida and treated as a separate taxon. The composition of the Polyarthra is identical to that of the order Canuelloida proposed by Khodami et al. (2017) in a paper that was subsequently retracted. The Polyarthra is the oldest available name for this taxon. [details]
